Literary Lessons from the Lord of the Rings
Curriculum Knowledge Objectives These will tell you what you can expect your student to learn from this curriculum. Lesson Plans that you can cut and paste into your own word processing program. will include helpful links and literary works that will enhance the curriculum. These are tied to Books One - Six of The Lord of the Rings and to the Unit Studies for ease of use. Resource Links for Books One to Four (Unit Studies One to Nine) are now available. These will be helpful for the writing assignments. More will be added later. Instructions for how to write a literary analysis paper and suggested topics for this project will posted soon. Ideas for classroom activities or Tolkien Club projects are now posted. Teachers may also submit resources, puzzles, or worksheets that they feel may be helpful. Sometimes errors creep in. (We call them orc-droppings for a better visual image.) You can see a list here if you are confused. If you spot others, please contact us, so that we can correct them in future printings. Though Literary Lessons from the Lord of the Rings was designed for individual student use, it works great as a group or co-op class, especially since most of the work is done for the instructor.
